New Almaden Mines
Meet Michael Cox, a geologist and historian, who has had extensive experience in the abatement of abandoned mines and public education of mercury contamination in the South Bay.  He is also the co-founder of the New Almaden Quicksilver County Park Association and served as its Vice President and Educational Program Director.  Michael has also been a docent at the New Almaden Mercury Mining Museum, located in San Jose.  Don't miss this educational opportunity to learn about the history of our mines, as well as the issue of mercury mining and contamination.
